Vancouver, British Columbia: January 11, 2007 – Galway Resources Ltd. Galway (GWY: TSX-V) is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Paul Valenti to the management staff to serve in the capacity of Vice President of Project Development. Mr. Valenti’s vast experience in taking grass root projects and moving them into production, and then ultimately managing the mining operations themselves will be of great use to Galway as the Company looks to advance its three U.S. based mining projects.
“The addition of Paul Valenti, I believe, is a perfect compliment to our existing team and towards our corporate goal of moving our projects forward in an aggressive manner. He brings an unusually diverse background including precious metal, base metal and molybdenum deposits developed as open pit and underground mines. His vast experience runs the full gamut which includes: advancing sizeable capital projects (ranging from $100 to $400 million) and putting them into production, managing operating mines, as well as the issues entailed with mine closure. Paul’s expertise will be critical for Galway in achieving our short and long term milestones,” states Rob Hinchcliffe, the CEO of Galway.
Mr. Valenti obtained his Metallurgical Engineering degree from Michigan Technological University. He started out his career on the metallurgical side and then switched to project management. More specifically, over the past 20 years, Paul has held senior positions with direct responsibility for operations, engineering, and construction. During that time period, he has directed many project feasibility studies and has extensive experience in project and construction management. During his tenure with USMX, he successfully advanced four greenfields gold mines and ultimately put them into production. He then played an integral supervisory role in the engineering and actual operation of several mines. Additionally, Paul’s experience in permitting mines and working with the local community will be invaluable as Galway moves ahead with its three projects in the western U.S.
“I am very pleased with the addition of Paul as V.P. of Project Development and this will allow Bob Morrell who has served in that capacity over the last nine months to now focus on the technical side of developing our projects. Bob has demonstrated his outstanding technical skills in the resource estimation and modeling disciplines for Indian Springs and Victorio,” says Marshall Himes, COO and Director for Galway.
